Strand Of Oaks

Happy Spring!

This past Saturday we had the AWESOME pleasure of opening for Strand Of Oaks at The Taproot. The setting was perfect: a wonderfully talented, hardworking band at one of the best venues in Alaska with an amazing, music-loving crowd. It proved to be nothing less than expected. Strand Of Oaks put on a dynamic, powerful, lighthearted set and continued to woo everyone both on the stage and off. It was a wonderful opportunity for us and we are most grateful for it. We hope to see more of them in the future.

Run Red

Hello!

We are excited to announce that you can watch a video of us playing an acoustic version of a BRAND NEW SONG here below. We were invited into the studio by the wonderful Alaska!Live team.  It was a dream. There are times where we feel like we are fighting just to stay still. Then, there’s times where we feel like what we are doing means something and progress is being made toward a distant, shining light that is our goals. This was one of those times.

We had to take some time off of recording to get a piece of gear fixed, but we will be back in the studio hopefully this Monday to finish up tracking the remaining few songs we have. Every time a song is finished being tracked, we actually get to hear it for the first time. To explain: from the bands perspective, we never get to hear all the pieces the way you all hear them; just a blurry reflection from live videos or the unequal necessity of a monitor on stage. But then and there, we are able to witness something that can altogether possibly not be awful (ha). Thank you all for your continued support of our music and us as people. We are where we are now because of our work, yes, but the other 50% is from gifts and sacrifices of time and other resources of others.

Thanks For Caring!

We will be playing a show THIS SATURDAY at the Blue Loon with our friend Daniel Firmin. $5 at the door and show starts at 10pm!

Alaska Live!

Hello! Happy New Year!

The loves and lights gathered all around; specs of loss gather as a film over the joy, but we have hope for the future.

We hope you guys are having a wonderful winter. Did you get your New Years Kiss? Pets count, I think. Anyway, life is moving right along with our album coming to fruition. We have 3 songs completely finshed, with 7 more that need guitar and vocals. OH BOY!

Also, we will be playing on KUAC for Alaska Live January 21st at 10pm! It is such an honor and we are so excited. We will be acoustifying ourselves and this will be just as much a surprise to you as it is to us about how they’ll come across. Can’t wait.

Below is a perfect example of how you do an amazing job on Alaska Live; I’m using it as my template, if that’s okay Emma.

THANKS FOR CARING

SINGLE RELEASE!

Hello everyone!

It’s been a crazy last couple years here at the Young Fangs base. There has been more than just a few setbacks to our recording our record: broken and faulty equipment, new jobs, new lifestyles, schedule changes, cancellations, etc, etc, etc. At times it seemed like there wasn’t really much keep us going forward. All around us people were starting albums and finishing them and touring them and there we were, still recording drum tracks. All possibilities of a completed record offered vague, transient solace to us. On top of the band, we also have families and full time jobs that take precedence in many ways, of course. But we’ve kept moving forward at a glacier pace; moving forward nonetheless.

Now, after a few modifications and a history of it’s own, we are releasing the single off our record called Have & Hold. Those of you who have seen us live have definitely heard us play it, but now you can take it with you (if you wanna…but don’t you wanna?). We’re super excited. You can find it on Soundcloud and (hopefully soon) on iTunes.

As far as recording is concerned, We have all the bass and drum tracks done, and have moved on to guitar! Woohoo! We know last year we said that it would be THIS spring that we would release the album, and for that we are sorry. Things are on a good trajectory right now and we are moving ahead at the fullest speed we can muster. SO, spring 2015! Let’s make this record happen!

We have new shirts as well!!!! Message us on our Facebook for more information! They’re super soft and awesome!

Have & Hold Blue

WE LOVE YOU ALL FOR THE CONTINUED SUPPORT! It would be ever so difficult without the encouragement and faith that we get from you all! This is something we believe we’re called to do and we press on furthermore. THANKS FOR CARING!
